Remember my best friend in the whole wide world Corrie… (AKA My GRIGH!!!)? Of course you do!  We've been BFF's for 15 years and now… she has a 6 month old baby who happens to be one of the most beautiful baby boys I've ever seen Uhm… I may be partial, but genuinely he's BEAUTIFUL!

KANSAS CITY, Mo. When we went home to Kansas City (well, a place that I used to call my home ) I KNEW that taking a few updated photos of the cutest baby in the world would happen… and I honestly couldn't wait to see him.  Last time I saw him he was newborn… and WOW to how BIG he's gotten!!!!!! MY BEST FRIEND HAD A BABY!!!!! AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! It's still so cool to me to see someone I've known since we were in elementary school with a BABY!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

So, he's a VERY handsome baby, he's AMAZINGLY happy and he's well…. perfect What more could you ask for in a son?!

Spending time in Kansas City with my best friends, seeing how big Corrie's son has gotten… well, makes me miss Kansas City so much.  I feel like I'm going to miss him grow up.  Corrie's like my sister… and being away from her is really hard for me… especially now that she has Zachary.  I love and miss her so much…

Hope you guys liked looking at these photos as much as we enjoyed taking them. You guys do know that you'll be watching him grow up on this blog, right? Duh…

PS. if you're new to this blog… and you're wondering why I call her grigh, and she calls me grigh… it's something we've done for years… and it's very weird to most people… but uhm, WE'RE weird.  It's actually a form of the word "girl." When we're together, it's said more like a growl.. GRIGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!! We'll have full conversations growling back and forth When we call each other and leave messages we just say, "Hey grigh, it's grigh…call me back" Yes, we have the same nickname… Yes, as previously mentioned we're weird.  I'm not sure I can explain it any further than that.  But, that's it

 

 I love this one…. I think this one IS my favorite of the whole bunch…  it's me and my grigh… and her son.

First and foremost…

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!  YEAHYEAHYEAH!

Secondly… I’ve lost 1 more pound since our last weigh in.  My TOTAL weight loss since October 4th?

12 POUNDS!

Sure… I didn’t meet my short term Christmas goal of 16.5 lbs and am a bit disappointed in myself as I could have gone to the gym a few more times but I’m still INCREDIBLY proud for losing what I did I’m also happy that I’m losing it at a healthy rate… I don’t want a bunch of skin hanging from me when I get down to goal weight so, whatever… SUCCESS!!!!!

Enough about me… let’s talk about you!

 ALLLLL thanks to the father of the bride that we were there at all that day. He saw us in action at Megan and Ben's wedding in May of 2006 and approached me for a business card… the rest is history. By the way… isn't this photo cool?!

TOLEDO, Ohio. What more can I possibly say that these photos didn't already?! These guys are so expressive  and comfortable being themselves that capturing their emotions was not difficut at all

These two have been together since high school. I think that almost their entire bridal party has known each other since then, too.  So… they've ALLLL been friends for YEARS!  This was one VERY tight-knit group who was a BLAST to be around! Oh AND not to mention they're TROOOOOOOOPERS…. notice how COOOOLD it looked in those photos!? Well, it wasn't an illusion, it was FAREEEEEEZING!!!!!!!!  We, however, heard not ONE complaint out of ANYONE! They were ALL about it and up for anything Elissa stood out in the cold for longer than anyone AND in high heels.  She kept saying, "I only get married once and I can take this cold!" She's seriously a super hero.  SUPER ICE PRINCESS!  Gosh, I'm getting cheesier by the second!!!!!! Okay… shutting up now…

Their reception… AYKM?! The aforementioned bridal party who was a blast… uhm… they did NOT disappoint on the dance floor!  Oh, did I mention that Elissa and her Maid of Honor have been dancing since they were like five years old… AND they're both STILL teaching dance!!!!!!!! Of course, they teach together… are you surprised? So, needless to say… I sort of knew that it was going to be a fun dance floor.  I asked Elissa earlier in the day if Mark was a guy who danced. her response, "he cuts a rug." OMG… I'm getting SOOOO old because I then said… "is that a good thing?!" Her reply, "uhm yeah… he can dance." OHHHH YESSSS HE CUTS A MEEEEAN RUG!!!!!!!!  

On that note, I've gotta tell ya… they taught me another word Are you dying to know what that word is? Because if so… I'm getting ready to tell you

FETCH!

And what does that mean? It simply means that something is cool or awesome or hot or well… anything that's uhm… good So yes… their wedding was TOTALLY fetch! (Did I use it right? )

As many of you know, every year since Mike and I have been married we've designed a Christmas card.  At first, it was a card that just went to friends and family.  Then, we started a photography business and sent it out to all of our clients as well.  It was something that we were sort of known for amongst our peeps.  People would say "what are you guys going to come up with THIS year?!"

Now, I won't lie… we've come up with some clunkers.  Like the year we did a Where's Waldo and dressed Mikey up as Waldo…. yeah, LAMETOWN!  

Needless to say, we started putting a lot of pressure on ourselves to always try and outdo ourselves from the previous year.  Well, this year was CERTAINLY no exception.  Amy from Silverbox Weddings liked our Christmas card ideas so much that she pitched the idea of an article to some of her friends at Rangefinder… they passed.  So, she pitched the same idea to Professional Photographer Magazine… they liked it! :D 

So… without further ado… I present to you our FIRST EVER magazine publishing (is that how you say that?!).  This is from the September, 2008 issue.

Okay, anyway… back on topic…

Mike and I brainstorm ideas literally allllll year long… usually on long trips when we have nothing else to talk about . 

When we thought of the Christmas Story as the inspiration for our card… next came the task of finding a pink bunny costume that looked JUST like Ralphie's.  I looked EVERYWHERE online… NADA!  Then I remembered my friends Kate and Andrea took me to Costumes by Margie in Broad Ripple back in August just for the fun of it I called the costume shop thinking there's NO WAY they'll have anything like that.  I was right.  However, Cheryl (who I think was the store owner) said "we can rip up an old bunny costume and make a new one." WHAT?! WE'RE SOLD!!!!!!!!!! A week later Mikey went and picked it up.  He called me right as he got in the car and said, "Bobbi, I just walked 4 blocks through [a not so good part of town] carrying a damn pink bunny costume… I'm lucky I didn't get shot!" HAHAHAHA…. the mental picture of that is HILARIOUS to me… anyway…  

So, here's a few photos of me WORKIN' IT OUT in a pink bunny costume and Mikey looking HOT with his hair greased back and in flannel… how can ANY woman resist THAT?!

We took it with a camera on a timer placed on a tripod…. we really should get one of those remote shutter releases… it would make our self portaits SO much easier!  

My favorite part about the Christmas card? THE PACKAGING!!!!!! That's probably the graphic designer in me Of COURSE I took a few photos of it We tried to make it look like the box that held the famous leg lamp.

 

 and no… we didn't send a card to ourselves, but I didn't want to publish someone elses address here
